    During the year 2,074 deaths were registered within the Borough, 1,059 of males and 1,015 of females, equivalent to a crude* mortality rate of 14.55 per 1,000 persons of all ages. A comparison of the crude rates for each of the four quarters of the past three years is given below:—

    The proportion of deaths in Poor Law Institutions was nearly 25 per cent, higher last year than in 1910, and over 80 per cent. in the case of Lunatic Asylums. The numbers and proportions (per cent.) recorded in the past two years are set out below.
