3.04; 1910, 1.00; increase 204 per cent.), and "pulmonary tuberculosis" (rates, 1911, 249;
1910, l.50; increase 66 per cent.). In the " Rest of the Borough " increases were noted in both
the diseases, 79.0 per cent. from " diarrhœal diseases," and 275 from " pulmonary tuberculosis."
In both divisions of the Borough there were higher rates from the "other tuberculous diseases."
Although more cases of diphtheria were reported in the " Registered Streets " last year, the
mortality from that cause was reduced from 0.33 to 0.11 per 1,000. In the "Rest of the
Borough " the mortality was higher last year, rising from 0.02 to 0.07 per 1,000.
