    CANCER. Cancer — 489 deaths were registered from this malignant disease during the year compared with 577 in 1934, and with an average of 503 in the previous decennium. The deaths represent a death-rate of 1.6 per 1,000 of the civil population and is 0.05 above the average rate (1.55) of the last ten years; 231 deaths occurred among males and 258 among females. The following statement shows the ages at death of the persons attacked during the past ten years, and the return for the year 1935 :—
