At the Northern Dispensary there were 819 new cases, and at the Southern
470, while the attendances at the former were 3,808 and at the latter 4,210. The
examination of contacts with tuberculous cases showed that 30 were suffering from
tuberculosis, 27 were suspects, and 428 were not suffering. The nurses of the
Northern Dispensary paid 1,234 visits, and those of the Southern 1,981, to the
homes of the patients, while the Tuberculosis Officer of the Northern Dispensary
made 178 visits, and of the Southern 191 visits to the patients' homes for the
purposes of examining them.
Pneumothorax Treatment was also administered to fifty-one patients at
a cost of £379 lis. 6d.
Finsen Light Treatment.—One patient at a cost of £2 15s. Od.
Artificial Sunlight Treatment.—One case under treatment in the year
under review at a cost of 18s.
