by the Health Visitors and the Centres, and 5 of these latter died (one with
septicaemia complicated with otitis media ; one under operation for acute or chronic
mastoiditis; one certified as acute diarrhoea and otitis media ; one certified as
gastro enteritis and suppurative otitis media; and one as acute otitis media (Coroner,
without inquest)).
TUBERCULOSIS.
542 cases of Tuberculosis in its different forms were notified during the year.
The attack-rate was equal to 1.76 per 1,000 of the civil population. This number
was an increase of 8 on the return of the previous year, and of 0.06 per 1,000 on
the attack-rate.
Respiratory (Pulmonary) Tuberculosis.—454 notifications were
received, of which 235 referred to males and 219 to females, and represented an
attack-rate of 1.47 per 1,000 inhabitants.
