    Phthisis. —This disease, the type of the tubercular group of diseases, was the cause of 481 deaths, compared to 484 in 1898, 486 in 1897, and 468 in the year previous to that. The incidence of this disease in the Sub-Districts was as follows:—

    Bronchitis, Pneumonia, and Pleurisy. —These diseases, as typical of the respiratory group diseases, caused 963 deaths, compared tb 733 deaths in 1898, 820 in 1897, and 755 in 1896; the incidence in the Sub-Districts being as follows:—
