    From the following table it will be seen that the number of cases of tuberculosis notified in Hackney declined fairly steadily from 1920 until 1941, when war-time circumstances commenced to affect the Borough's tuberculosis case rate, but it should be noted that the figure of 183 in respect of the past year, is the lowest ever recorded since notification commenced:—
