Treatment of River Banks.
Periodic baiting was continued along river banks in the area
as follows:—
Pre-baits laid 3,032
Poison baits laid 688
Post-baits laid 688
Prevention of Damage by Pests Act, 1949.
Notices under Section 4 of the Prevention of Damage by Pests
Act, 1949, were served for structural work in respect of 17 dwellinghouses
during the year.
Defective Drains.
Rodent control investigations revealed defective drains in 87
instances, as compared with 186 in 1950.
A general comparison of rodent control statistics for the past
two years appears to indicate that the treatment adopted is giving
satisfactory results.
