In many of these cases it is necessary to seek the assistance of
the London County Council's Home Help Service until a hospital
bed is obtained, and in other cases, where there is no medical
attendant, the necessary action is taken, through the London
Executive Council, to have the patient placed in charge of a medical
practitioner in the neighbourhood.
