    POPULATION. A Quinquennial Census of the principal large towns and cities becomes yearly more necessary in order to estimate the changes that take place in the number, age, sex, marriage, and occupation of the population. The populations of the Parish and of the Sub-Districts are based upon the annual increase of numbers estimated in the Reports for 1886 and 1887.
