THE SEVEN PRINCIPAL ZYMOTIC DISEASES.
The deaths from the diseasos grouped under the two orders
Miasmatic and Diarrhœal were 477, against 573 last year, a decrease
of 96. The decennial average of Zymotic deaths for the ten years
1873 to 1882 was 537. (See Table V.)
Table D shows in detail the mortality from the various diseases in
these two orders contrasted with the preceding year.

Of the total deaths from all causes, 15½ per cent. were referred to
the diseases included in the above mentioned table, against 18½ per
cent. in 1882. The death rate from Zymotic disease was 3.7 against
4.5 last year. The corresponding rates for London wore 2.7 in 1883,
and 3.49 in 1882.
In 1882, total deaths were 127,685, out of which 573 were Zymotic deaths.
