2598 (Informal)	Ice Cream	The Ice Cream was found to contain 8.7% of sugar instead of 10% minimum content required under the Food Standards (Ice Cream) Order, 1953.	Cautioned Repeat samples taken from the local manufacturer were found to be satisfactory.
A1040 (Formal)	Luncheon Meat	The Luncheon Meat contained 68% of meat instead of a reasonable minimum of 80% as considered by the Public Analyst.	Cautioned The French Manufacturers were informed of the deficiency. They maintained it was manufactured in such a manner that the meat content should have been 80% and could not account for the deficiency.
2512 (Informal)	Milk Chocolate	This article was found to contain no milk fat and little. if any, cocoa butter, It was in fact a milk chocolate substitute prepared with sugar fat (other than cocoa-butter), skimmed milk powder and cocoa.	Cautioned The article was immediately withdrawn from sale, and a promise given by the retailer to discontinue the 'line'.
2527 (informal) A106 8 (Formal)	Milk. Chocolate	The article consisted of a milk chocolate substitute prepared with sugar, fat (other than cocoa-butter), skimmed milk powder (or its equivalent) and cocoa.	Cautioned The manufacturers were informed of the infringement and stated that this article was no longer being manufactured.. A formal sample was taken some 3 months later and the facts reported to the Public Health Committee, when it was decided to again warn the manufacturer and consider taking action if a further sample was found to be of similar quality.
l 2533 (Informal)	Milk Chocolate Nougat	This article was found to be nougat coated with a milk chocolate substitute composed of ingredients mentioned in connection with samples Nos. 2527 and A1068.	Cautioned The manufacturer was informed of the infringement, and the question of the composition of chocolate coverings in general was fully discussed at a meeting with one of the Directors. The matter is still under review.
2536 (Informal)	Milk Shake in a straw	Labelling Infringement This article consisted of straws containing a compound colouring, flavouring and sweetening substance, the ingredients of which included sugar, 3odlum bicarbonate, citric acid, saccharin, colouring and flavouring which were not fully specified on the label.	Cautioned The manufacturers were in formed ofthe infrlingement and arrangements made for the printing of new labels in conformity with the requirements of the Order.
