The sample had been purchased as Non-Brewed Vinegar, whereas it was anon-brewed condiment containing 3.5% w/v of acetic acid instead of a minimum of 4% w/v.
Cautioned The retailer prepared the article Tor sale by adding water (in a fixed proportion) to a non-brewed essence which was labelled 'Concentrated solution of Acetic Acid'. The retailer was advised to sell the article under its proper designation.

Essence for malting Non-Brewed Condiment
This article was found to contain 46,8% w/v of acetic acid instead of 52% w/v as stated on the container.
Cautioned The manufacturers carried out a thorough investigation but were unable to account for the deficiency in this particular sample. The sample was taken in order to establish responsibility for the deficiency of acetic acid in Formal Sample No.1047.

Labelling Infringement The sausages contained tripe, beef, por, etc., as stated on the label; but tripe was the major ingredients therefore not entitled to the description 'Vienna Sausages', (Vienna Sausages are a type of continental sausage prepared with pork as the major meaf. ingredient, the total meat content being not less than 80% of which four-fifths Is pork).
Cautioned The manufacturers of this foreign product suggested that the sausages be described as 'Charma Sausage' and this description was agreed to by the Public Analyst, therefore no further action was considered necessary.
