2509 (Informal)	Brandy Butter	Labelling Infringement This article contained sugar, butter, brandy and nutmeg. The nutmeg was not declared on the label as one of the ingredients.	Cautioned. The manufacturers amended the label by adding the words "added spices" to the list of ingredients previously stated.
2545 (Informal)	Brine	This article was a sample of brine solution taken from a galvanised container used for pickling meat in a Butcher's shop, and found to contain 28 parts per million of zinc.	The Butcher was informed of the zinc content of the brine, and subsequently provided a non-corrosive container for the storage of pickling brine.
2532 (Informal)	Chocolate Dates	This article was found to be dates coated with a milk, chocolate substitute - composed of sugar, fat (other than cecoa butter), skimmed milk (dried or condensed) and cocoa.	Cautioned Chocolate is an article of confectionery prepared with sugar, cocoa butter and ground cocoa beans. It should contain no fat other than cocoa butter. Milk chocolate should contain milk fat corresponding to the whole milk used.
2496 (Informal)	Cream Slices	Labelling Infringement The sample contained a substance resembling cream in appearance, but composed of an emulsified mixture of butter or butter-fat, and some edible fat with sugar and water added. A notice was exhibited in the shop stating "Rich Dairy Cream is now used in all our cakes	Cautioned The retailer immediately withdrew the notice, and instructions given that the term 'cream' must not be used in relation to this article in future.
2510 (Informal)	Egg Soup Fancies	Labelling Infringement The article consisted of soup garnish prepared from two or more ingredients not specified on the label.	Cautioned The Importers were informed of the infringement, and arrangements made for the relabelling of stocks to conform with the Labelling of Food Order, 1953.
