Of the above the following were notified from Institutions in
the district:—

The Girls' Village Homes, Barkingside—Pulmonary
Tuberculosis 5
Tuberculosis (all other forms) 2
During the year 1924 the following deaths occurred from
Tuberculosis:—•
Pulmonary Tuberculosis for the district proper (including
1 in the Girls' Village Homes, 1 in the Ilford Isolation
Hospital and Sanatorium) and 1 in West Ham
Mental Hospital 54
Claybury Mental Hospital 15
West Ham Mental Hospital, excluding the 1 mentioned
above 10
Ilford Isolation Hospital and Sanatorium (not Ilford
resident) 1
Tuberculosis (all other forms) for the district proper
including 1 in the Girls' Village Homes 11
Claybury Mental Hospital 2
West Ham Mental Hospital 1
Of the 65 deaths which occurred of Ilford residents, notification
had previously been received of 48 of the cases, and 11 were
notified at or immediately after death. Of the 6 remaining, 1 died
at one of Dr. Barnardo's Village Homes and 1 at London Hospital
from Dr. Barnardo'g Homes, and were probably notified elsewhere;
1 at Brentwood Mental Hospital, and 1 at Queen Mary's
Hospital, Stratford; while 2 were not notified by medical practitioners
who were under the impression that they had been previously
notified.
The following table shows the number of deaths from Tuberculosis
of Ilford residents, together with the death-rate for that
disease per 1,000 persons living, during the last ten years :—
