Thirty-two samples were submitted for chemical examination,
the lowest fat content being 6.05% and the highest 12.7%.

The following tabulation shows the results obtained in respect of the 952 samples examined from 1st May, 1947, to 31st December, 1954 :—

As will be seen from the above, the results of samples taken
show the standard of ice cream remains at a high level.
It is pleasing to note that in no instance have pathogenic
organisms been cultivated in any sample examined since the inception
of the tests in 1947.
MEAT INSPECTION.
Annual licences were granted to five slaughtermen during 1954.
and one private slaughterhouse was also licensed during the year.
The following table gives details of the ante- and post-mortem
inspection of animals made during 1954 :—
