UNSOUND FOOD.
During the year a total of 11 tons 19 lbs. of varied articles of
food were condemned, and 1,062 Food Condemnation Certificates
issued.

The main items were :—

Fish (Canned)105 lbs.
Fruit (Canned)1,267 lbs.
Jams and Marmalade319 lbs.
Meat (Raw) and Bacon15,415 lbs.
Meat (Canned)2,542 lbs.
Milk (Canned)361 lbs.
Milk Powder133 lbs.
Poultry743 lbs.
Rabbits356 lbs.
Sweets287 lbs.
Vegetables (Canned)426 lbs.

The corresponding figures for the year 1953 were, 15 tons.
4 cwts., 1 qtr.. 11 lbs., and 1.414 certificates.
There was no consignment of food especially examined during
the year.
Unsound food is normally returned through the Trade,
utilised for manufacturing purposes or animal food. or. where this
is impracticable, destroyed.

MILK AND DAIRIES REGULATIONS, 1949.

Ten Dairies have been registered under the above Regulations, and licences for the year 1954 were issued, as under
