No legal action was taken by the Authority with regard to
unsound meat during the year.
F(2). Slaughter of Animals Act, 1933.
The Slaughter of Animals Act, 1933, makes the use of a
mechanically operated instrument for stunning compulsory.
Previous to the passing of the Act, the use of such an instrument
was required and governed by the Council's Bylelaws.
During the year one person made application for a licence
to slaughter or stun animals in compliance with the terms of
the above Act, and was duly licensed.

F(3). Milk.
On the 1st June, 1936, a new order, the Milk (Special
Designations) Order 1936 came into operation, which revoked
the Milk (Special Designation) Orders of 1923 and 1934, and
prescribed the following new special designations for milk.
Tuberculin Tested.
Milk from cows that have passed the
tuberculin test for freedom from
Tuberculosis.
Tuberculin Tested
(certified).
Tuberculin tested milk which is bottled
on the farm.
Tuberculin Tested
(Pasteurised).
Tuberculin, tested milk which is also
pasteurised.
Accredited.
Milk from cows that have passed a
veterinary inspection but not a test for
Tuberculosis and which may be bottled
on the farm or elsewhere.
Pasteurised.
Milk that has been heated to 145 deg.
Fah, and kept at this temperature for 30
minutes.
