INFANT FENDING AND WEIGHT ON DISCHARGE FROM HOSPITAL.
In both hospitals normal infante were breast-fed every four hours
omitting the early morning feed.
Of 611 infants discharged from Mayday Hospital, 377 -'ere up to or over
birth weight (62%).
Of 532 infants discharged from St. Mary's Maternity Hospital, 532 were
up to or over birth weight (57%).
Twins and Triplets.

There were 20 eases of Twins and none of Triplets. There was no maternal death.

MATERNAL MORTALITY. (Obstetric Service )
Twelve deaths occurred of Mothers dealt with by the service, four in
Booked cases, and eight in emergency'' cases.
The maternal mortality of "Booked" cases, i.e. cases under the continued
supervision of the service, is 3.3 per 1,000 hospital deliveries, and 2.1 per
1,000 total deliveries including the Municipal Midwives booked cases.
