Puerperal Infection.
Fifty cases were treated in isolation for puerperal infection,
11 of them in the Borough Hospital and 39 in Mayday Hospital.
There was 1 death (en abortion).

The assistant Medical Officer of Health for Obstetrics was called in
by medic: 1 practitioners to see 57 obstetrical and 3.05 gynaecological
patients who could not afford to pay a privato consultant.
In addition, he was asked by the Medical Superintendent of Mayday
Hospital to give an opinion on the obstetric and gynaecological aspects
of 40 cases in the medical and surgical wards of the hospital.
