SCARLET FEVER.
The total number of Scarlet Fever cases admitted during the year was 147
a decrease of 123 on 1959. 138 cases ore admitted. from the Borough and 9 from Penge.

4 cases sent in as Scarlet Fever were hot suffering from the disease, leaving a total of 143

DIPHTHERIA.
1ll cases wore admitted with a diagnosis of Diphtheria., a decrease of 204
cases on 1939. Of these 14 were found not to be casos of Diphtheria and 35 wore
cases of positive swabs without clinical symptoms, leaving 62 cases of true clinical
diphtheria. There wore 7 deaths, a mortality of 11.3%.
