BOROUGH HOSPITAL.
Table A gives a Summary of the cases treated at the Hospital during 1940.
505 patients were admitted and discharged, which, together with the patients in at the
cannoncoment of 1940 (26) gives a total of 531 cases dealt with. 26 died giving a
case mortality for the Hospital of 4.6% as against 3.3% in 1939.
During 1910 a total of 18 cases were admitted from Penge and those are included
in the Table, The Hospital is recognised training school for nurses.
During the year 2 probationers passed the preliminary examination and 3 the final
examination.
During the year 3 cases wore operated upon for tonsils and adenoids.

The average number of days of each patient in Hospital for all classes of
patients was 33.4 days compared with 24.5 days in 193S.
