The following table shows that in the quinquennium 1904.8 the London diphtheria death.rate
exceeded that of any of the undermentioned foreign towns except Dtockholm, St. Petersburg, Berlin,
Vienna, and New York, and in 1909 was higher than that of any except Stockholm, St. Petersburg,
Berlin, Vienna, Rome and New York :—
