DEATHS FROM VARIOUS DISEASES.
Pulmonary Diseases.
In the deaths from Pulmonary Diseases, other than Phthisis,
there has been a slight decrease during the year 1881. During
the previous seven years the average number of deaths from
these diseases has been in the proportion of 226.5 in every 1000
deaths from all causes, or 4.6 in every 1000 of population
living, whereas in 1881 the proportion has been 183.4 in every
1000 deaths, or 3.8 in every 1000 persons living. In London
the proportion has been 4.1 in every 1000 living.
