During 1881, 2055 St. Pancras parishioners, under five
years of age died, being 41-1 percent, of the total deaths. This
is 2-1 below the proportion of 1880, and nearly the same as the
average of the preceding seven years. In the whole of London
the proportion of ileaths under five years to total deaths in 1881
is 41-1, or the same as that of St. Pancras, while during the
preceding seven years the average was 42-3 per cent., or 1-3
above the average of St. Pancras during the same period.
Between the ages of five and sixty-five, 2161, and above
sixty-five years, 784 St. Pancras parishioners died during
1881. 1254 deaths took place in public institutions situated
in the Parish, being about the same number as in 1880, and
1047 St. Pancras parit-hioners died in public institutions
Bituated in St. Pancras and in other parts of the metropolis.
