Tubercular Diseases.
The total number of deaths which were registered as being due to
diseases of a tuberculous nature was 380, compared with 343 in 1903,
314 in 1902, and 388 in 1901.
283 of the deaths were caused by Tubercular disease of the
lungs, 38 to Tubercular disease of the brain, and 59 to other forms of
Tubercular diseases.
The number of deaths from Tubercular disease of the lungs and
other Tubercular diseases and the rate per 1,000 for the whole
Borough and for the separate sub-districts are shown in the next
Table.
Compared with last year the rate for Tubercular disease of the
lungs shows a considerable increase, while from other Tubercular
diseases there has been a decrease.
The corrected death-rate for Tubercular disease of the lungs was
1.07, compared with .91 in 1903, and .87 in 1902; from other
Tubercular diseases .36, compared with .45; and from all Tubercular
diseases 1.43, compared with 136.
