Return cases scarlet Fever. of During 1899, there were only four cases in
which Scarlet Fever occurred after the
return of a case from one of the Metropolitan Asylums
Board hospitals. In 1899 there were six cases, and
in 1898, 13.
(1).—First case returned from hospital on February
3rd, and the second case was notified on February 10th.
(2 and 3).—First case returned from hospital on
October 27th, second case notified on October 31st, and
third case on November 2nd.
(4).—First case returned from hospital on November
20th, and second case was notified on November
26th.
Five cases of Scarlet Fever and three cases of
Erysipelas were notified from the Workhouse, one
case of Scarlet Fever and three of Erysipelas from the
Boys' Home, and nine cases of Typhoid Fever from
the Asylum, a total of 19, compared with 114 in 1899,
65 in 1898, and 37 in 1897.
Table XI. shows the prevalence of zymotic disease
for each month during the year.
