The total number of deaths from the above notifiable
diseases was 43, seven of which occurred from
Scarlet Fever, 11 from Diphtheria, 17 from Enteric
Fever, seven from Erysipelas, and one from Puerperal
Fever. 17 of the deaths occurred in the hospitals of
the Metropolitan Asylums Board, four from Diphtheria,
six from Scarlet Fever, and seven from Enteric Fever.
The death-rate from all notifiable diseases was
corrected for institutions .59, compared with '51 per
1,000 in 1899, .78 in 1898, 1.1 in 1897, and 66 in 1896,
while fur all London this rate was .58, compared with
.77 in 1899,.71 in 1898, .81 in 1897, and .72 in 1896.
