The following is a statement showing the use made of the
Borough Ambulance under the A.R.P. Medical Officer until
January 31st and under the Fire Brigade for the remainder of
the year:—

The "Morris Viceroy" motor conveyance for the transport
of mentally and physically defective children, purchased in
October, 1931, was replaced in June by a "Leyland Cub" motor
coach. The new motor conveyance made its first journey on
3rd June.
In addition to the normal journeys in connection with the
School Medical Services, the motor conveyance was also used
for the conveyance of refugees, persons rendered homeless by
enemy action and for other purposes connected with Civil
Defence.
During the year the "Morris Viceroy" conveyance travelled
1,729 miles and the "Leyland Cub" 5.642. a total of 7,371 miles.
The total number of passengers carried by both motor conveyances
was 8,740.
