The chief outstanding need of the Borough at the
present time appears to me to be the necessity for adopting
some definite measures for assisting the large number
of consumptive persons in the Borough to, if possible,
regain their health, either by means of a stay in a Sanatorium
or treatment at a Tuberculosis Dispensary, or
such other means as the Council in its wisdom may see
fit to adopt, for while so much is being done for this
large class of persons in various ways we in Greenwich
are simply marking time in the matter.
In conclusion I have again to tender my best thanks
to each and all Members of the Council, and the Public
Health Committee in particular, for their continued kindness
and support, and also to the Members of the Staff
for the manner in which their duties have been performed.
I am, Gentlemen,
Yours respectfully,
ERNEST G. ANNIS.
