Zymotic Diseases.—These are the seven
principal epidemic diseases and the deaths due to
them respectively are—Small-pox, o; Measles, 1;
Scarlet fever, 0; Whooping cough, 1; Diphtheria,
2 ; Enteric fever, 0; Diarrhoea, 4; or 8 in all, the
same as last year, the death rate being 0.42 per
thousand of the population, comparing with 1.29
for England and Wales. A feature is that for
two years in succession there have been no deaths
from scarlet fever, though in that time there were
55 cases. During these same two years there
were 5 deaths from measles and 3 from whooping
cough.

The notifications in the several months of the year, together with the admissions to Hospital, were as follows:—
