population. Again, the infection was of a mild type, as only
one death was registered.
The figures for the previous years are as follows:—

Enteric Fever.—No eases were reported.
Measles.—This is no longer a notifiable disease in this
district. 'Cue ease was admitted into the Isolation Hospital.
Erysipelas.—Six eases were notified and two removed to
hospital.
Cerebro Spinal Meningitis.-—One ease was notified, and
was removed to hospital and died.
Encephalitis Lethargica.—Two eases were notified
during the year.
Tuberculosis.—The Surrey County Council arc responsible
for the treatment of cases in this District. All notified cases
are, however, visited, and the patients are instructed in the
methods of the disinfection of sputum, and opportunity is
taken of inspecting the premises. The rooms are disinfected
at the termination of a case.
The ratio of non-notified tuberculosis deaths to total
tuberculosis deaths was 11.2 per cent,
The number of specimens of sputums examined for the
tubercle bacillus was 37.
