Measles.—This is no longer a notifiable disease in this
District.
Chicken Pox.—Owing to the occurrence of a case of Small
pox in an adjoining area, this disease was made notifiable
under a special Order of the Ministry of Health for a period
•of three months, from 22nd October 1923 to 22nd January
1924.
Under this Order 47 cases were notified.
Tuberculosis.-—The Surrey County Council are responsible
for the treatment of cases in this District. All notified
cases are, however, visited, and the patients are instructed
in the methods of the disinfection of sputum, and opportunity
is taken of inspecting the premises. The rooms are disinfected
at the termination of a case.
The ratio of non-notified tuberculosis deaths to total tuberculosis
deaths was 46.1 per cent.
The number of specimens of sputum examined for the
tubercle bacillus was 29.
