Diseases of the Lungs and Tuberculosis.
Amongst the 1,494 children examined, there were found
8 casta in which pulmonary tuberculosis was suspected. In
the infante there were 2 girls with tubercular glands and 1 boy
in the intermediate group, and 3 cases of suspected tubercular
glands. There were 3 casts of old tubercular scars—2 amongst
the boys and 1 amongst the girls; also 2 suspected cases. In
the intermediate group there were 2 boys with tuberculosis
of the joints and 1 girl with tuberculosis of the jaw.
Of other diseases of the lungs, there were discovered 21
cases of chronic bronchitis, distributed amongst the various
groups, as follows:—Infant Boys 8, Girls 6, Intermediate Boys
Girls 2.
