Tuberculosis.
32 deaths were due to some form of Tuberculosis, which
is equal to a death rate of .67 per 1,000 of the population as
compared with 33 deaths and a rate of .71 in 1914. 24 of the
deaths were due to Pulmonary Tuberculosis, which gives a
Phthisis death rate of .5, as compared with .59 in 1914.
145 notifications in respect of 68 casts of Pulmonary
Tuberculosis and 16 cases of "Other Forms of Tuberculosis"
were received during the year. 81 were visited by the Health
Visitor or Medical Officer of Health, and in the remainder
the Medical Practitioner expressed the wish that no visit
should be made, and assured me that all precautions were
being taken.
The Nurse made 171 visits in connection with these notifications.
During the year 28 rooms and 307 articles were disinfected
in connection with the control of this disease.
