and there is no doubt that they do much towards preventing
the evil of over-crowding.
"Four notices have been received from H.M. Inspectors of
Factories. One referred to a case of over-crowding, one to
insufficient sanitary accommodation, and the remaining two
were in respect of minor matters. All were immediately
attended to.
"The home-work provisions have been most carefully
complied with, and lists have been forwarded to the local
authorities of the districts in which the out-workers reside.
Lists have also been received of out-workers resident in this
district, all of which have been registered as required.
" I am submitting the usual particulars as to the trades
represented, and the number of factories, workshops, etc."
