Paving Works.
The following materials have been used during the year, viz. :
Broken Guernsey Granite 756 cubic yards
Gravel and Hoggin 420 ,,
Slop and Snow Carted 14,600 loads
Water for Watering Roads 11,934 van loads
Broken Stone 359 loads
Hard Core 52 ,,
Bombay Stone 44 ,,

I he side streets out of Prospect-place, Union-road, have been made up and paved,
the estimated expense thereof amounting to £68 Is. 7d. having been previously
paid by the London Labourers' Dwellings Society, the Leaseholders of the property.
The defective channel Deptford Lower-road, at Surrey-place, and northward
thereof has been removed and the pitching continued up to the curb, at a cost of
£90 3s. Od.
The old carriage paving in Princes-street has been taken up, redressed and relaid
as far as it would go, and the remainder made up with good sound second-hand cubes
on six inches of concrete, the curb redressed and relaid on edge, and the York paving
relaid and made good. The work was executed by Mr James Etheridge, under his
contract for Paving Jobbing Works, at a cost of £422 18s. Od.
The footways of the following streets, viz.: Renforth-street, Risdon-street, and
Hatteraick-street have also been curbed and repaved, under the contract for Paving
Jobbing Works.
