obstructions have been removed where possible, and
information given to the applicants as to the condition
of the drains or if new ones were necessary.
As many of the old sewers which used to require
periodical cleansing have now been improved, there is
a considerable less quantity of heavy deposit to remove.
Ninety loads have been carted away this year from
those sewers still remaining in their old condition,
against one hundred and forty loads carted away last
year from the sewers generally. There has also been
carted away a considerable quantity of slop from the
catchpits of gulleys.
The Public Lavatory at Paddington Green still maintains its utility, as shewn by the number of persons who paid for the accommodation:—
