make 40 miles, 7 furlongs and 9 yards now under the
control of the Vestry.
The Streets have been opened in 2704 places by
Gas and Water Companies and other parties, for the
purpose of laying and repairing pipes, and carrying
into effect certain alterations and additions to Houses
and Stables.
Lighting.
Thirty-four additional Lamps have been erected in
various Streets within the Parish, making the total
number of Lamps 1648.
Fifteen Lamps have been removed to new positions
in order to improve the lighting of several Streets, and
to accord with such footways as required widening.
Buildings, Sewers and Drains.
Forty-seven Notices have been given to the Vestry
in accordance with the 76th Section of the Act of 1855,
for the erection of 157 Buildings; namely, 1 Chapel,
1 Temporary Church, 127 Houses, and 28 Stables.
The Orders of the Vestry have been served upon the
Parties concerned, and Copies thereof filed at the
Vestry Hall.
Sixty-five Applications for the construction of
Drains under the Public Roads and Footways to 79
Houses and Premises have been received, and the
Works executed at the cost of Owners of Property.
