HOUSE DRAINAGE.
52 Applications have been received for permission to construct new
drains to premises. 118 houses (including 67 new ones) and other
buildings have been connected with the sewers, and the following
works executed in connection therewith, viz.:—
1,066 feet of 9-inch pipe drains laid.
1,739 „ 6-inch do.
1,185 „ 4-inch do.
108 Closet pans and and traps fixed.
112 Sinks and traps fixed.
3 Cesspools cleansed and filled up.
Inspections are being constantly made by the Inspectors under my
direction from house to house throughout the District for the purpose
of ascertaining what Cesspools remains, and whether any defective drains
exist.

New footway Paving has been laid down as follows:-
Ratcliff—White Horse Terrace.
Old footway Paving has been relaid as follows :—
Limehouse— Linton Place; next Duke Shore Alley, Ropemakers'
Fields; South side and a portion of North side of Copenhagen Place;
Opposite the Cooperage, Fore Street; Parnham Place, next Wooden
Bridge.
Ratcliff—White Horse Street, East side of Stepney Church;
Queen Street.
Shadwell—Part of west side of Glamis Road; New Gravel
Lane.
