Making a total of 373 superficial yards of granite crossings.
TAR-PAVEMENT.
It was found necessary during the year to take up and relay
2,828 superficial yards of Tar Paving in High-street, Lewisham,
and 327 superficial yards in South-row, Blackheath; in addition
to this 2,492 superficial yards were taken up and relaid in general
repairs throughout the division, making in all a total of 5,647
superficial yards of tar-paving taken up and relaid. Several of
the tar-paved footpaths in the division were painted with hot tar
and coated with sand, amounting to 18,524 superficial yards; and
9,022 superficial yards of gravel paths were picked up, re-gravelled,
rolled with a heavy roller, painted twice with hot tar, and coated
with sand.
No repairs to Rock Asphalte paths were carried out during
the year.
