Sewer flashing by means of automatic flushing tanks has again
this year received considerable attention; twelve new tanks have
been constructed, varying in capacity from 650 to 1000 gallons,
fitted with 8-in. or 12-in. flushing syphons, as required by the description
of sewer to be flushed.
During the year fifteen additional manholes, which also act as
ventilators, have been constructed on existing sewers. These
