The birth rate was 33.06 per 1000.
The death rate was 10.99 per 1000.
These rates differed in the different Registrar's subdistrict
Thus:
In Blackheath (so much as is contained in Lewisham
Parish),
The birth rate was 24.64 per 1000.
The death rate was 10.47 per 1000.
In Lewisham Village (Registrar's district),
The birth rate was 38.12 per 1000.
The death rate was 21.28 per 1000.
In Sydenham (Registrar's district),
The birth rate was 36.09 per 1000.
The death rate was 13.80 per 1000.
In penge,
The birth rate was 28.18 per 1000.
The death rate was 12.28 per 1000.
Table No. II. gives the number of births and deaths which
have occurred in the different Registrar's sub-districts in
Lewisham Parish and the Hamlet of Penge, together comprising
the Lewisham District, with the mortality of the
several public institutions.
