DUST
The Vestry has, during the year, had the dust barged away at a
cost of 2s 3d per load
Efforts have been made to obtain a wharf exclusively for the
purpose of accommodating the barges which remove the dust, and on
the 1st February, 1893, an agreement was made to hire a wharf at
Crabtree, at a rental of £60 a year, for 7, 14, or 21 years This
wharf will, I hope, be soon in use, so that the existing wharf will be
free for the reception of the materials required for repairing the roads
as originally intended
The dust has generally speaking, been removed throughout the
Parish once a week It has not, however, always been possible to
clear each district on the day set apart for it as intended, because, as
I pointed out in my last annual report, the work of the dustmen is
frequently interrupted by the weather, whilst at other times the work
seems to fall light, and the men clear the Parish in five days instead
of in six
It is satisfactory to note that the number of complaints of nonclearance
of dust has considerably diminished (see below)

Plans have been submitted for the drainage of new buildings, &c., as follows:—
