MACADAMISED ROADS.
These have continued to receive careful attention. Schedule I. at
the end of the report will show the amount of macadam that has
been used on them.
The population at the previous census in 1881 was 42,895.

The above Table shows how inadequate the estimates for the
granite have been, and I have to repeat the complaint that the
Vestry frequently has no granite in stock, so that the roads cannot be
repaired immediately they show signs of wear.
The traffic in the district continues to increase enormously.
ASPHALTE AND TAB PAYING.
Tar paving has been laid around the Recreation Ground and the
paths outside in the Crown and Fulham Palace Roads, also in the
Rylston Road, the only asphalte required has been for repairs to
trenches made by the Gas and Water Companies.
