The new Bye-laws lor regulating the drainage of houses were
adopted by the Vestry on the llth of May, 1887, and have been
extensively circulated during the year; I regret that unless a special
inspector is appointed, it is not possible for my department to exercise
what I consider the requisite amount of supervision over the drainage
of private property.
In December, a builder was fined £5 and costs for making the
drains to some houses in the Lillie Road contrary to the Bye-laws of
the Vestry.
