The decrease on the General Rate must be attributed to the fact
that the Overseers had a very large balance in hand at the commencement
of the year, and that the Vestry's Precept was not a large
excess on the previous year.
Of this amount about thirteen-sixteenths of a Id. is for part of the Metropolitan
Consolidated Rate, being for Bridge Expenses, and chargeable on the General Rate by
Act of Parliament.

The Precept for 1888-0 amounts to £11,687 8s. 2d., or equal 8d. in &.
