Fish Curers.
There are 50 premises in the Borough used for the purpose
of curing fish. During the year 4 intimations were served and
complied with.
Fried Fish Shops.
At the end of 1932 there were 97 fish shops in the Borough as
compared with 95 in 1931. During the year 309 inspections of these
premises were made and cleansing notices were served and complied
with.
Fish Shops and Stalls.
There are 58 fishmonger's shops and 21 fish stalls in the Borough.
These were kept under constant supervision, and during the year
13 parcels of fish were surrendered and certified as being unfit for
human food.
Restaurants and Eating Houses.
The number of restaurants and eating houses on the Register
at the end of 1932 was 186.
The inspection of the kitchens of restaurants and eating houses
ensures that they are kept in a satisfactory condition and that the
food is clean and wholesome. These premises were systematically
inspected during the year.
Ice Cream Premises.
The number of ice cream premises on the Council's register
at the end of the year was 268 and 343 visits of inspection to these
premises were made by the Inspector.
It was necessary to serve 7 notices for cleansing and all were
complied with.
