Medical Baths.
Turkish, Russian and Electric Baths are provided at the
Municipal Swimming Baths, Old Kent Road, and during 1932 the
following number of bathers patronised these well-appointed
Baths:—Turkish, 5,888; Russian 9,478; Electric, 518.
Persons suffering from nervous and mental fatigue, circulatory
disorders, dyspepsia, and defective action of the skin are known
to derive considerable benefit from their use, and it is surprising
that the public do not make greater use of them as an aid to health.
Public Mortuary and Coroner's Court.
The Public Mortuary and Coroner's Court is situated at St.
George's Road, Peckham. During the year the bodies of 358
persons were received, and of these 207 were residents of this
Borough.

MATERNITY AND CHILD WELFARE.
Particulars of the work carried out in the Borough in connection
with Maternity and Child Welfare appear in the following
pages. The services are dealt with under their respective headings
with special reference to the Council's Maternity Ward Scheme;
Infant Welfare, milk distribution to necessitous persons, and home
visiting.
Municipal Maternity Wards.
The agreement with the London County Council for the reservation
of two wards, each containing 6 beds, in St. Giles' Hospital
Camberwell, for patients desiring to be confined under the Municipal
Scheme was continued during the year.
