Births and Birth Rates.
The Registrar-General has furnished information that the
number of births registered in the Borough of Camberwell during
the year, after correction for inward and outward transfers was
3,614: males 1,811, females 1,803.
Included in this number is 120 registrations of illegitimate
births, which is equivalent to an illegitimate birth rate of 33.2 per
1,000 births.
As a matter of general interest and to draw attention to the
steady decline in the birth rate, particulars are given in the following
table of the population, number of births and the birth rate in each
year during the Census decennial period 1921.1931, as well as those
for last year.
